Hospital celebrates significant contributions of local philanthropists

Two very special awards recognizing leadership in philanthropy will be presented on May 4, 2013 at Burnaby Hospital Foundation’s inaugural Diamonds in the Sky gala. Keith and Betty Beedie have been named the recipient of the Distinguished Patron Award and Dr. Kenneth C. Hill will receive the Spirit of Philanthropy Award.

“We are pleased to be honouring Keith and Betty Beedie and Dr. Kenneth Hill with these distinguished awards,” says Cheryl Carline, President & CEO of Burnaby Hospital Foundation. “These awards will be presented at our inaugural gala, Diamonds in the Sky, to acknowledge the important role community leaders have played in Burnaby Hospital’s 60-year history. As we celebrate the hospital’s rich history, we also honour the significant contributions made by these individuals.”

The 2013 Award Recipients are:

Keith and Betty Beedie, Distinguished Patron Award

Dr. Kenneth C. Hill, Spirit of Philanthropy Award

The Distinguished Patron Award recognizes an individual or family who demonstrates exceptional leadership in supporting Burnaby Hospital through philanthropic endeavours.

The Spirit of Philanthropy Award recognizes an individual physician, nurse or health care professional at Burnaby Hospital whose personal generosity and community leadership has inspired others to become involved in supporting Burnaby Hospital.

“As we celebrate the hospital’s rich history, we also honour the significant contributions made by these individuals.”
